Its been a real happening & fun-filled holiday. All the eating..hope it does not make me fat by alot.. =P

Yesterday my cousin came over to my house. Gosh, the girls are really having lots of fun with the hamster...

Posing with the hamster

They must have scared the hamster out of his SHIT~! =P

Over the past few days have also taken some pic of the hamsters in various positions...aiyo...totally cute.. =)

Squatted in 1 corner...

Who's that so noisy? Disturb my slp? Grrr..

Peace at last..now I can sleep.. =P

The food container is the best place to sleep in eat~!

Feeling full..life is truely beautiful... =P

Can sleep & exercise..

3 hamster holed up together for warmth..

A lonely hamster sleeping soundly...

Woo..so loving.. =P

Then went to Aunt's house towards the evening today. Much delicious food. & most importantly aunt gave me a bottle of perfume &amp;amp;amp; some earrings. Wohoo...life is truely beautiful...~! =)

Gambled a few rounds too. Well, as guessed I was on a winning streak. But, haiz...things just started going downhill..& I began losing most of my capital..sobx~! S$2 lei~! All gone~! =(

But 1 thing I've gota give myself some credit is that despite having only 50 cents left I still took up the challenge to become the banker..hehe

And that was when I really lost all my capital of S$2.. =S

Well, come to think of it..maybe if I hadn't acted hero I would have 50 cents left? Probably to buy myself a cup of kopi mahz.. =P

Over there at my cousin's house are two rather fierce or should I say noisy dogs..manage to take some pic of them thou.. =P

The noisy dog.. =S

Nice fur eh?

These few days have also received a couple of ang baos. Some of which are rather nice..so I thought I should post it for all to see...

Yippee~! The Year of the Dog has finally come~! One of the best time of the year with all the new clothes & delicious food around. Most importantly, the chance to see all the relatives that I could probably only see once a year only...hehe

Woke up real early in Chinese New Year morning to go to the temple to pray to grandpa. I thought there would be a crowd there. But, no. Well, maybe the folks just had to sleep late with all the heavy partying or mahjong session bahz... =P

But in any case, this is the 1st good thing that could happen. As I really could not imagine if I had to squeeze with so many inconsiderate people in "1st day" of the year.

Anyway there was an attendant there who always made trouble for us - bossing us around and all. In short, bad service & attitude. So as you could have guessed, we would not even think of giving her an ang bao packet despite the fact that she seem to be looking at us longingly (or should I say hungrily) for her red packet.

Oh please~! You haven't treated with good service all year round then why should we even bother to give you anything despite the fact that the others have given to you~! Well, try again next year, arse...grrrrr..~!

After the session, went home for a short breakfast session & of coz started munching the snacks too~!

With a bloated tummy, went to try on & choose which new clothes to wear... =S

Actually wanted to wear the blue halter neck top dress that Eddy bought for me..but..sobx...the clothes was rather transparent. What a let down... =S

Guess I'll have to make some alteration to it tomorrow when I can cut or sew (a taboo to do these during Chinese New Year).

So settled on another set of new clothes & went to get ready to go out le...

Mum & Me

Sis & Mum

Sis, grandma & Me

Ang bao time~! =P

Passed to mum the gift Eddy bought for Mum too...

Front view...

With closer view - the gold plated Dog coin...

Inside view - a new S$2 note...

Througout the day was totally fun..

The 1st part when I was there was practically baby sitting my cousin's son. Aiyo..I felt like a mother. Coz the boy (about 5 yr old) was lying on my lap and drinking milk from his milk bottle. His father still teased him saying that he must be having the time of his life - drinking & lying on the lap of a PRETTY gal... =P

After the milk drinking session, the boy started playing with us. In fact, he was rather rough that at 1 point I just had to run for my own life...But then the boy keeps pouncing at me & my other cousins..Guess he loves to play with us bahz? =)

the rest of the day was carried with much fun & food. Also managed to take pic with some of my cousins...

The vain pots~!

The vain pots with the "bad boy"~!

Me with cute little Grace...

More pics..ooh...can we stop now? =P

Went to my cousin's house too. I spent most of my time there in his room. Coz despite the fact that his room is like a junkyard (Mind you, his room has barely 10 tiles of walking space & have "treasures" piles miles high), we played games & watch movie. Woho..and the best was that he passed me The Sims Night Life & The exorcist~! I've been looking high & low for this, you know... =)

Haiyo..I just love Chinese New Year~! Esp when every year I could spend time in my cousin's room~! =P

Anyway relatives are coming over my house today. Will be another busy day & hope it wll be just as fun.. =)

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I ended up not being able to attend my morning class. So was studying outside the lecture theatre till around noon when Ava came over to school to fetch me to Wheelocks Place.

Wehehe...we are going to get a prezzie for gay-mond (oopz...its Raymond.. =P). It was some expensive gift she got for him. Well, call that the power of love? Didn't know that our dear Ava is so sotong and senile...said some rather silly stuff to the staff there that left them abit confused...but lucky for us, the staff over there was helpful. =P

After getting the prezzie, we went to shop around abit although class is going to start in like 20 mins time. =P

Went to The Face Shop to get a white nail polish as I wanted to try doing some French manicure. The layout of the shop is really nice. Simple yet brightly lit. Just the kind that attracts my attention. And most importantly, the colour of the nail polish are very nice (my fav pastel colour) and they are cheap too. For a mere $2.50~! What a buy~! =)

Well, as guessed we were late for school. We would have been late or I may think of not going to school if Ava was not driving. Hehe..noti me~! =p

But our mouth didn't stop just because we were in class. In fact, we were talking all the way since she came to fetch me till the day class ended and to her house.

2 pretty gals..hehe

A nice view.. =P

The trip to her house was very nice. In fact, memorable as for 1 thing I've never been in such close contact with a dog before. And most importantly, I love the cute little dog, named MILO~! =P

There was also nice pineapple tarts for me to eat. Apparently they are homemade. But in whatever case, it taste great that even Milo was eyeing it and desperately trying to get our attention to have more of those Chinese New Year goodies~! WohOOooo...~!

Come..nice doggie..Yummz~!

Ewww..stucky saliva drooling from his mouth.. =S

Milo stalking me for goodies...

The most handsome doggie pose.. =P

Finally got active Milo to pose with me...

Nice fleshy butt & tail.. =P~~~

Well, wish I could visit Mr Milo sometime soon~! =)

After much pigging of food from yesterday. Imagine eating 1 half packet of oily chicken rice, then later a extremly heavy dinner. The dinner esp was the killer. Coz the food served was initially thought by us as a large serving. but, no. It wasn't. Worse of all, it was so delicious that we ate till we didn't realise that we had eaten so much (as if eh?)~!

Well, anyway was feeling rather guilty that I am still stuffing myself with food despite the Chinese New Year being round the corner. Cannot la. I've got this nice (ermm..rather mini) blue dress I want to wear..so I've got to do something about it. Don't want to be bursting out of it like Incredible Hulk on New Year's Day, do I? Haha

So went for a jog despite waking up when the sun was already shining at my butt le. =P

Well, as you can see, its not my normal practice to go for ajog so late in the morning. I usually jog at 7am or earlier de. Then won't suffer from sunburn ma.. =P

Anyway, this jog just proves something...

I OLD liao~!

Why?

Coz I dont have as many "multiple lungs" (as described by one of my friend) like in my glory days...When I was running was about out of breath..none like what I experience in the past...haiz..

Well..too bad I suppose this is what happens when age catch up with you. But its ok. As long as I keep running I think I should be able to build up my stamina. After all, I have talent to run mahz. In fact, I think all my life this is one thing that brings "glory" to me..and I too don't want to lose it at such a young age lei (ignore what I said about me being old..hehe)

Was looking through some mails sent to me by darling. This one caught my attention. So I thought I should extract part of it and share it with you guys:

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.

You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time.

You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.

You'll fight with your best friend.

You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.

You'll cry because time is passing too fast.

You'll eventually lose someone you love.

So take too many pictures,

Laugh too much,

& love like you've never been hurt

Because...

Every 60 seconds you spend upset...

is a minute of happiness you'll never get back

Oh btw..am looking forward to tomorrow. Coz am going to eat some very delicious Jap food at Golden Mile hawker center. Pluz darling says he has cleaned up his house. and got a special corner near his bed. Refused to reveal anything. Guess I gota go there see for myself. If nice may consider taking some pic and putting them in my next blog entry bahz... =D

Till then, take carez to all.. =)

Haven't been blogging very often lately as I was busy preparing for New Year and at the same time rushing my assignments...

Haven't been a very smooth going week for me too.

1st it happened when I was taking a bus the other day. It was very crowded in there pluz the damn bus driver seems to be in the need to go for another round of driving class. Why? Coz sitting on his bus makes me think that I am sitting on a roller coaster or an airplane that was going thru an air turbulence. Gosh~!

Well, luckily for me Eddy and me found a seat still. But this "fortune" didn't last very long as the bus gradually got more & more crowded after each stop. Well, I could jolly well have glued my butt to the seat just like all the others were doing. But when I saw this rather elderly lady I gave up my seat to HER. But hell, the lady next to her (the shameless one) smiled at me with her sweetest (to me is the most disgusting smile), push pass the elderly lady and plopped down on the seat~! WHat is this~! I was telling Eddy that if I knew this was coming, I should have ignored her smile & ask the elderly lady to sit instead (probably this will shame her abit in the crowded bus? or could it be her skin is too thick?)

Well, anyway, was really fuming and kept turning around to glare at her. After awhile she pretended to fall aleep. Think my expression must be quite murderous~! Can't blame too, you know. Coz halooo..she has blatantly taken a seat that she is not entitled to sit. To prove my point, later on there was a seat vacated next to the old lady and she sat down immediately. See~! She wanted to take my seat just that some shameless woman has taken it.

As for me, was lucky that I did't have to fall while riding on that rocking bus coz there was darling to the rescue. He held on to me so that i don't fall. Well, at least this helps to put out my fire SLIGHTLY... =)

I would have guessed that the encounters of idiotic people ends there for the day. But, no~! It didn't.

Shortly after we got off the bus and walking to the hawker center where all the delicious food was (I was having a craving for it right since the start of the week), I heard a man's whistle. Thinking that it was just one of those happy souls out there, so we didn't take much notice of it.

But guess what? It was actually a super duper rude uncle telling us to clear the way for him~!

Haloo~! Old uncle~! The pavement is so big why must we make way for you~!

So anyway the auntie on the bus earlier on already piss me off l..pluz this old and filthy uncle..grrr...this really set my volcano top blowing~!

So as he walked I began scolding him very loudly from behind. Wanting and hoping very much that he would hear it. I mean really, its not that I am trying to be fussy or what. But come on, the pavement is so bleedy big..me and darling walk only left half the pavement. So why the hell this piece of shit wants to squeeze thru us? Grrr~!

Aniwae we bought some very nice food to eat from the hawker center to eat. Oh ya..the hawker center is called Golden Mile Hawker Centre. Where some of the best food are. =)

Yummy pork porridge..Just the style I like...

Oily but nice chicken rice.. =P

Oh ya..this is the snack Eddy bought for me during his lunch time and one of it was he saved it for me. One of his colleague even told him that he admire how good he is treating me...well..let's just wait and see bahz..hehe

The plate of "love"...

Just like today was spent mainly cleaning up my house. One part that is desperately screaming for my attention is my bedroom. In a total mess. By the time I was done with just my room my finger nails and hands were so dirty that I thought they weren't mine. Haha~!

Files stacked in a horrible manner

After cleaning...

Just look at the amt of dust on my desk.. =S

After cleaning...

My bed has become a table..wohoo~!

After cleaning..

The terrible mess...

After cleaning...

Nice arrangement bo? =)

Later in the evening am going for facial. Wehehe~! Looking forward to it. But was hoping that I will not die of pain when they start squeezing my pimples & blackheads~! =S

when we reach there the carpack was full. Haiz, nearing Chinese New Year period and weekends are the times when shopping places become mad house. And that is when you will have chances to encouter "mad" people too.

Well, the things goes this way. We found a lot wich we were suppose to park. Reversed and got ready to park. That was when the car behind just zoom past us and took the lot. Shit him~! Still dare deny that he didn't know that we were eyeing that lot. Hallo..don't act blur k..unless you drive with your butt as your eyes then I don't blame you. *Pissed off*

At least 1 thing went well. After facial face feels smmother and softer le..Yippee~! Can't wait for Chinese New Year to come~! =)

There has been a recent uproar of the public over the NS defaulter Mr Melvyn Tan, also a internationally recognised pianist.

As quoted from the Straits Times:

Mr Tan left Singapore in 1969 when he was 12 to study music at England's Yehudi Menuhin School. In 1974, he won a scolarship, funded by the Straits Times Press, Nanyang Siang Pau and the Lee Foundation, to further his studies at the Royal College of Music.

As the course would take him beyond the age of 18, he applied for and was given a deferment from the NS for 3 years. His parents also provided a $30,000 bond.

However, Mr Tan did not return when his deferment perios ended in 1977. He asked for further deferment to do a master's degree in music.

The Ministry of Defence said "no" as it did not allow deferment for postgraduate studies.

When Mr Tan's exit permit expired and his bond was forfeited, he was publicly named as an NS defaulter in the Government Gazette.

So, he bacame a British citizen in 1978 and applied to renounce his Singapore citizenship.

Over the years, Mr Tan made several appeals, including one to then Prime Minister Mr Goh Chok Tong in 1995. He asked to be allowed to return without being charged for his NS offences.

Mindef's position was that while he was free to return to Singapore, "he would have to answer for his NS offence in court".

For more info on this issue. Read
this and this.

In fact many ministers have asked that Singapore should be more compassionate if it aims to be a gracious society. In fact, by doing so, it would also serve as a pull factor to attract our local talents back instead of them "escaping" to another country just because they have dafaulted on their NS obligation.

Some ministers were even rather sacartic (as what I deemed as), they even mention whether it is just about seeking "vengeance" or could it be a plain desire to exact a "pound of flesh".

Gosh, what a crude way and short-sighted way of seeing things.

Even me, a lady out there knows the meaning of responsiblity. How can these defaulters be let off so easily just because they've got other greater and more imporatnt things to do in life. Like as if the other boys don't have their dreams to fulfil eh?

It was even mentioned that what is the defaulters are none other than Bill Gates or Einstein. Would the outcome be the same?

To me this is just another desperate way for those against the imposing of stiffer laws against NS defaulters to "reason" their way around. Don't they even get the meaning here? Its not who has defaulted the NS obligation, its more of the law that it is mandatory for all male citizens who are 16 years of age or above to enlist for NS. This law has been in place for 38 years (since 1967). What makes those people who has "bigger dreams" to fulfil, sometimes even in the name of bringing honour to the country (what an absurb excuse) think that they could get away with it lightly for not viewly this law seriously.

Like I've said earlier and would like to emphasize it again. Big dreams are meant to be fulfilled. But never use this as a reason for not serving in the NS. Think about it, without a country which is prosperous and defended for, then what is there to talk about bringing honour to your country when it is no longer in exited or in a mess. Unless all the so-called reason mentioned is all bullsh*t as it actually boils down to one's own SELFISHINESS.

P.S. For how deferment from NS for a certain period, read
this (For you guys to see that the Mindef is not as inflexible and in fact rather fair with those who has "big" dreams to fulfil)

When I was on the bus today, a topic suddenly came to my mind. RAPE. This was probably because of the news article I read about a lady who was raped and killed by some fishermen after they watched some porn (Such cruel act - Their sentence of being hanged seems to be the most suitable punishment for them). So I decided to "research" abit on it before I start on my work again, just to have abit of "recreation " activity I guess?

According to
Dictionary.com, it is defined as:

1. The crime of forcing another person to submit to sex acts, especially sexual intercourse.

2. The act of seizing and carrying off by force; abduction.

3.Abusive or improper treatment; violation: a rape of justice.

There weren't much information provided. So to satisfy myself, decided to look up more information in
Wikipedia. What a wide selection of articles about this topic was discussed there.

One of them that caught my attention was MALE RAPE. Well, most of the time what we hear is the rape of women. How often do we hear of men being raped? So I decided to read further into the topic.

As quoted from the article:

Male rape victims are commonly victimized by other men. Although women can commit an act of rape by non-consensually forcing a man to engage in a penetrative sexual act, males are more common victims of anal rape. Men are traumatized by rape and sexual assault just as female victims.

Male rape victims, like female victims, do not want to be raped, nor does the physiological effect of erection or orgasm mean that the act was enjoyable for the victim. A capable assailant can force these physical responses in the majority of males.

Well, just as I've guessed before reading the article, the rape of men was either by their own gender or that they are being forced (or rather stimulated) if that is the crime was committed by a female. This is because, no matter what, how could a lady be stronger than a man? If the lady wants to "rape" him, can't he push her away or something like that? Am sure if he wanted to he could. So, how could one say that a lady has raped a man? It sounds so illogical. Unless he has been drugged or he was just simply a willing party.

Then there was the topic of sex trafficking being mentioned too. Not an uncommon issue as every now and then there will be reports of syndicates being busted for such trafficking or anything of that sort.

As quoted from the article:

Human trafficking, or sex trafficking (as the majority of victims are women or children forced into prostitution) is a term used to define the recruiting, harboring, obtaining, transportation of a person by use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjecting them to involuntary acts, the most common being forced commercial sexual exploitation (forced prostitution).

Human trafficking is not the same as people smuggling. A smuggler will facilitate illegal entry into a country for a fee, but on arrival at their destination, the smuggled person is free; the trafficking victim is enslaved.

Victims do not agree to be trafficked — they are tricked, lured by false promises, or forced. Traffickers use coercive tactics including deception, fraud, intimidation, isolation, threat and use of physical force, debt bondage or even force-feeding with drugs of abuse to control their victims. Women are typically recruited with promises of good jobs in other countries or provinces, and, lacking better options at home, agree to migrate, not knowing they will be forced into prostitution.

Wikipedia also states some common kind of rapist:

The power-reassurance rapist

Responsible for about 27.5% of reported rapes, this type of rapist has been described by law enforcers as the "gentleman rapist". He is usually:

1. of average intelligence;

2. not physically aggressive;

3. insecure about his masculinity;

4. socially-deficient; and

5. unable to develop interpersonal or romantic relationships.

Usually, he will select and stalk a victim before committing the crime. The victim is usually someone whom he knows, eg. a neighbor or work acquaintance. Power-reassurance rapists often force the victim to emulate foreplay, and take "trophies" of the rape; they may even record the event in a personal journal. Power-reassurance rapists tend to be the least violent type of rapists, often fantasizing about consensual sexual relationships with women, rather than violent conquests.

Anger-retaliatory rapist

Responsible for about 28% of rapes, this type of rapist is often a substance abuser, with impulsive behavior and anger-related pathologies. He does not target specific victims, and often feels animosity toward women in general.

The anger-retaliatory rapist's attacks are usually spontaneous and brutal, and while he does not intend to kill the victim, he may beat her to death if she resists. This rapist usually has below-average intelligence, and is likely to leave more evidence than other types of rapists.

The anger-excitation rapist

This type of rapist, considered the most dangerous and elusive, accounts for about 4.5% of rapes. He exhibits antisocial personality disorder, and being often perceived as charming and intelligent, makes him rather difficult to catch. The anger-excitation rapist may or may not choose his victims selectively.

Often sadistic, this type of rapist frequently murders his victim to prevent her from identifying him, or for his own self-gratification.

As women, especially I find that it is important that we know how to at least look out for some tell take signs about these kind of people.
Some warning signs are:

1. Extreme emotional insensitivity and egotism;

2. Habitual degradation and verbal devaluation of others;

3. Tries to tell others what they are feeling and thinking, as though it is his decision and not theirs. "She said no, but she meant yes";

4. Consistently using intimidation in language, or threatening behavior to get his way. Uses words like "bitch" and "whore" to describe women;

5. Excessive, chronic, or brooding anger;

6. Becoming obsessed with the object of his romantic affections, long after his advances have been rejected;

7. Extreme mood swings;

8. Violent outbursts; lack of impulse control;

9. Aggressive and violent;

10. Cruel behavior, especially under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

As quoted was one of the most common cultural view of rape:

Certain cultures, often patriarchal, have historically promoted a system of honor, dishonor and shame, which was applied with particular strictness to females. A victim of rape would be considered to have lost her honorable reputation and place in society, a loss of honor which entailed shame on the woman's family group as well.

In early ancient Rome, ancient China, and other cultures, a pressure has existed which has led women to commit suicide after becoming victims of rape. In fact, suicide of female rape victims for reasons of shame is also historically documented in Chinese culture.

In this modern world today, it is not as if the crime of rape has fallen or something like that. Since women these days are more educated, one should not commit suicide just because they've been rape, should they? To me, this is letting the rapist go too lightly. Although yes, some out there could say that rape is something that the victims would rather not say about but is this their fault and they should bear the guilt to even their graves? I don't think so.

Some could be worried that their parents or even husband would find out about their ugly past. Well, parents could be heartbroken at first. But I suppose their love for their child will override the supposed "shame" they are feeling?

As for the husband, I thought that it would be good that he should not be told the truth. But if ever one day he come to know of it and can't accept the "cruel" (like as if it has been any better for the victim eh?) fact, then so be it. After all who does not have a past that he does not want others to know.

No point carrying on such a relationship (solely my point of view) coz how are you able to live with a man all your life if he is so affected about your "past" and keeps reminding you of it (even if its just by the show of his sad face). This is just not possible. Amnot asking the spouse of victims to knock the victims till they go silly and forget about what happened. But at least be supoortive of them and be there for them. What's so difficult about that if you really love her wholeheartedly?

Yippee~! Finally another day of sunny weather~! Well...beginning to miss the rain thou..but its ok..at least I can comfort myself that even of the rain comes I won't have time to sleep also...hehe

The earlier part of the day was spent on studying and reading up thou. I've got tonnes and tonnes of work to complete. I won't even dare to sleep even if I've the chance..hehe

As we were in the MRT. Was telling mum my little thought which I thought it was rather a joke. Told her this "If ever one day you board a train and someone gives up their seat for you and you are not pregnant then it would simply means that you are OLD~!"

Hoho~! Don't I just look the grimace on her face when I mention the word OLD. Probably now she would prefer not havig someone to give up seat to her le?

It was in the evening when I went to Chinatown with my family. It was so crowded there even at the hawker center. Worse still the hawker center is really big. Now what's the name of that place eh? Haha..let me recall..think its People's Park Hawker center ar? Anyway we walked round and round, actually we ain't looking for seats..more like looking at what to eat. As we passed by some stalls (esp the one selling chicken rice) we just talked about "Hey this looks not too bad", then we walked on.

This carried on till we walked almost the entire hawker center. This was when the nightmare began. We can't recall where are all the stalls with the supposedly delicious food~! (-_-")

Suddenly wanted very much to eat the chicken rice that we saw earlier. So guess what? We ended up walked round and round all over again in the hot and crowded hawker centre for CHICKEN RICE~! Practically sticking out heads into every corner hoping to find the stall we wanted. Pathetic eh? =P

Grandma was totally puzzled as to why we are bringing her walking round and round. Oopz~! WE even had to resort to asking a family sitting at the table eating their plate of chicken rice where they bought theirs from.

Luckily we finally foud one chicken rice stall to satisfy our craving. At least we could content ourselves that this chicken rice is not too bad as the Q for it is quite long mahz. When we reached out turn, mum bagan display her usual prudent and scared-to-overeat behaviour again. So ended up we only ordered HALF a chicken (Where got enough for me?) and five bowls of rice...What an imbalance..haiz...

After dinner went to take a walk in Chinatown. My gosh once we reach the alley where the "party" is. The traffic slowed down trememdously. In fact, being the shortie we were, many others towered above us. What a discomfort. Its even more tough for me as I had to keep holding grandma;s hand to prevent her from getting "swept away" from the crowd. =S

But luckily for me, still manages to take some photos of the nite. Wished I had a better cam thou, coz some of my pics are either too dark or blurz~! Haiz, New Year Resolution - hope to get a reasonable good cam.. =(

What a whole lot of people there

Yummy Portugese egg tarts..look at the burnt top...

Mutant Portugese egg tart - Pineapple egg tart =S

And more of them... =S

Cute laser dog...

Prawn snack, ate it and only tasted prawn shell.. =S

Nice cheongsam..I wan~!

And the "people mountain people sea" stretches on...

Such cute dogs..must take a pic of them ar~!

Will be going to Chinatown again next week or maybe New Year's Eve...Hope to get more nad better pics then... =)
