Not having much money to start with in life / silver spoon in one's mouth has both its pros and cons.
The bad side of it is that, of course, is that there will be alot of things that we may wish to have but do not have the means to do so.This can quite painful at times especially when you really want it badly but know that the hapiness will be short-lived & the consequences will be serious.
I am not someone who go for branded stuff but ocassionally pampers for mayself is still very much required. As for darling, he does not have many places to spend his money on except on me (of cos), food (maybe) & bike (grrr...). Luckily I have cured his "fetish" (no porn involved.. =S) of buying a certain group of things..hehe
Well, to earn a living on your own is definitely much encouraged. After all, we have to learn how to be independent. Being able to do that will most likely be something that I could be proud of even at old age.. =)
Seemingly to achieve out little goal, darling had been trying different ways to earn some pocket money himself & taking up professional courses to give him an edge in his field.
On the financial side, he has been performing some IT consultancy work for his brother-in-law's newly started business & taking a cut of the profit earned. On his side, he has also been having his own Ebay business by selling COACH bags at lower than the retail price.
Here are some of the bags sold (feel free to contact me if you are interested in any of them)...
Bumble bee bag (My favourite bag) =P
Wristlet with blue fringe
Light blue bag (personal favourite)
Large size blue wristlet
Blue scribble sling bag
Bumble bee wristlet (Personal favourite)
Pink bag (Personal favourite)
Bumble bee sling bag
Wristlet with pink fringe
Darling bought a coach bag for me for christmas last year..*loves* =P
On the educational side, he has been taking a specialist diploma in the IT field to ouple with his degree. Certainly something that can increase his employability in the local market since his degree was not obtrained locally. =)
Ever since we started dating, he has definitely changed alot all for the better of our future (I hope). This, I am very touched & hope that things will eventually turn out to be the way we wished for. =)
Had a couple of "nervous brerakdowns" this month. Tough case I was assigned to handle. Doing things that was out of my job scope is tough enough. But what was tougher was that I had to go through this alone with little or practically no guidance & no team mate to share the
Seeing other teams having each other to share their woes made me feel even more envious & at times even bitter about it.
To make matters worse, the manager was not at all helpful at all. She was practically dumping the whole thing to me. Many may say that this is perfectly normal for a manager to
There was even one time I really had a very strong urge to slap her across that bitchy face. Argh~!
Well, anyway as a collegue of mine said to me: there is really no point in "fighting" head on with her. The person who will be on the losing end will SURELY be me.
Having given it much thought, this advice really made alot of sense to me. So these days instead of being angry & sulking all day, spoiling my day & the mood of people around me, I'd rather not make myself look so bad & try to be more tolerant.
Though I think that my temper has indeed improved but I guess it's much like a dormant volcano - always waiting for a chance to erupt. But for now, I will just try to keep calm (& indifferent, if matters get difficult).
I call this anger management - all for the need to be stronger for tougher road ahead in the work place where people are "ugly" & selfish. =(
After 21 years of mischief and childishness, my little kid sister has (finally) reached adulthood. Am sincerely hoping that from this day she will be more matured and not be a little spoilt brat like she used to be.
And from what I can see is that communication between the both of us has become better. Probably because we seldom see each other these days as she is staying in the school hostel while I am busy with work and is usually not at home when she is back for the holidays... =(
Aanyway for this special day I specially left work early despite me having a mean senior breathing down my neck for my work. Well, its not like as if I was productive or anything in fact I haven been talking to anyone for the whole day just concentrating on my work. But still, was not able to get the "desired" results. So well, what can I say? I've tried my best I guess.. =P
We went to Raffles Marina country club to celebrate. A country club that is at the very far end of Singapore (near Tuas 2nd link).. =S
But however, I would say the ambience there is very quiet and nice...just what my family likes.. =)
Nice fish and chips. The top favourite western food of the birthday girl.. =D
After dinner we went to the poolside to continue our mini celebration..
The birthday cake. Fabulous cheese cake from Singapore Island Country Club. My favourite too..hehe
The cake sure got HUGE strawberry on it. It taste very fresh, creamy and cheesy. This is what I call good quality.. =P
Then its the long awaited time. Presents~! =P
Diamond necklace - a standard 21st birthday present in our family.. =D
On the whole this is indeed a very memorable time. Precious time spent with family.. =D
We have been fanatics for good food. But problem is that we do not have much money and idea as to where all the good food are. But well, this does not stop us from pursuing our craze..haha...
Being a good cook, especially for western food, darling could still manage to whip up some decently delicious food. This makes me appreciate him more as I am a lousy cook myself - always ending up getting scalded or turning the kitchen upside down... =s
In fact after the first time I tried to cook, Darling ALWAYS shoo me out of the kitchen as my carelessness will irritate him and end up he will scald himself too..wahaha
So, this is another few more points for Darling... =D
But lately, the ban from the kitchen was SLIGHTLY lifted. I was allowed to help a teeny weeny bit in the kitchen.. =D
I was allowed to help cut up some meat and other ingredients. But still, am still NOT ALLOWED anywhere near the stove.. =S
Anyway, some of the dishes that Darling cooked are:
American Breakfast. Messy display and the bacon was rather salty. But if I didn't remember wrongly, its Darling's first time trying to cook breakfast. And considering that he woke up like 6 pluz am to prepare it I give him full marks for it.. =)
Delicious pancakes with lots of butter and maple syrup. Just my kind of breakfast early in the morning... =)
The latest dish that darling has been whipping up for me is spagetti in white sauce. Very nice~
Actually there are many other things that we have tried cooking like chicken rice and beef sauce pasta. But sad to say I just can't seem to find it..haiz =(
Hope to eat more food cooked by Darling - that is provided he does not over cook (it always seems like he is cooking for an army, making me over-eat. That's why although at times I really do miss his cooking, I forbid him to cook as it just too sinful to have him do cooking in his very own "unique" style... =S
